| Preparing for Battle |
Hunting, searching, on the lookout. This piece begins with a staccato violin which provides the feel of being on the hunt. The French horn supplies the initial melody as the piano begins to add more to the rhythm. Long violin strings chords create an element of being anxious. Timpani strikes at all the key emotional moments. After a short break, the feel becomes lighter, almost a calm after a battle with the piano playing arpeggios and the horns and strings sounding softer and warmer. After another short break, the battle resumes and the hunt is on again as the cello and timpani strike.

| Christmas Dream |

Light, airy, children's bedtime with a Christmas feel or a windup doll or toy soldier. Bells and glockenspiel lightly plunk a chord progression which also contains a nice melody which is played throughout the piece. A solo ahh voice provides a feel of an Angel singing above. Middle range violins takes over the melody while an entire ash chorus enters. The glockenspiel then slowly winds down to end the piece.

The oboe enters with the feel of a call from an old friend from across the hill or field. Suddenly the staccato violins provide a feel of skipping or walking with pride. The French horn is the main melody. Flute provides a nice fill with chorus voices while timpani add to the rhythm. It ends the harp.
